Property Sales News

11 September 2008
Electrical Performance Certificates now required for all properties sold after 1st October 2008
From the 1st October 2008, sellers who have their properties on the market must have an EPC (Energy Performance Certificate). This is aimed at sellers who beat the original deadline for requiring a HIP (Home Information Pack).

It is the responsibility of the seller to make an EPC available for inspection to prospective buyers at the time of viewing the property or when information about the property is provided. Further information on EPC's can be found at the Department for Communities and Local Government's website, www.communities.gov.uk/epbd and more information on HIPS can be found at the government's infosite www.homeinformationpacks.gov.uk
