Charles Walker

Charles Walker, Partner

Charles left school to join the family business in July 1956 and has been the Managing Partner since 1968. As he approaches 60 years within the business, literally nobody can claim to have the breadth and depth of knowledge and experience of Estate Agency in Nottingham. Charles is involved with a wide range of local community organisations and has strong ties to local sports, having been an active member of both Notts Athletics Club and Nottingham Casuals RFC, a life member of Notts CCC and a longstanding season ticket holder at Notts County.

Jonathan Taylor

Jonathan Taylor, Partner

Jonathan initially joined C.P. Walker & Son in 2000, becoming a Partner in 2008 having previously earned a BSc in Estate Management. Jonathan oversees the dayto day management of the Lettings and Management departments. Jonathan enjoys opportunities for quality family time and coaches his son’s junior football team. A keen runner and cyclist, Jonathan is also a VW enthusiast.

Dan Walker, Partner

Dan entered the business in 1999 after gaining valuable experience in the property industry with DTZ in Manchester and the Redrow Commercial Developments to support his BSc in Land Management from Reading University. Dan is a Member of the RICS with over 25 years post qualification experience. Dan became a Partner of the business in 2004 and today oversees the Commercial, Block Management and Student Letting departments. Out of work, Dan enjoys sports, cycling, music and travelling to Greece.

Rex Walker, Managing Partner

Rex joined C.P. Walker & Son in 2009 having previously earned an MA in Property Valuation and Law. Rex initially oversaw the residential lettings team, providing investment advice to Clients in relation to their existing and potential future properties. Rex was admitted into the Partnership as Managing Partner in 2020 and now provides strategic leadership across the business. Rex has three young children (including the latest CP Walker!) and is a qualified rugby union referee as well as being an enthusiastic but ‘developing’ member of the office golf society.

Bev Launder, Insurance Advisor

Bev joined C.P. Walker & Son in 2009 and has nearly 40 years total experience of working in the insurance industry. Specialising in property owners’ insurance, Bev advises on all types of personal and commercial insurance, obtaining new quotes and dealing with alterations. Away from work Bev is a keen cricket fan, having played indoor cricket and now a member of Notts CCC and also enjoys horror films, eating out and spending money!

Dan Ford, Insurer Relations Lead

Dan has worked with C.P. Walker & Son since 2005 and is a Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute. He applies the terms and conditions for commercial and residential Property Protector policies and liaises with insurers and brokers. Dan is a keen squash player and follower of both Glasgow Rangers and Nottingham Forest and enjoys trips to Slovakia with his fiancé.

Darren Holmes, Underwriting Team Leader

Darren has worked in insurance for over 30 years, and with C.P. Walker & Son since 2007. Darren heads up the Property Protector team, liaising with Insurers and suppliers and ensuring the smooth running of the Property Protector let property scheme as well as issuing quotes and new policies. . Aside from being a Dad to two grown up daughters, Darren is a keen sports fan despite being a Leicester City season ticket holder.

Jo Martin, Head of Property Accounts

Jo leads our Property Accounts team which handles all aspects of client money. Jo's role includes dealing with Client Account reconciliation and ensuring our Client Account procedures comply with the strict RICS guidelines. With lengthy accounts experience, Jo is a Member of both the Association of Accounting Technicians and Institute of Credit Management. Jo enjoys travel, socialising and watching her son play cricket.

Julie Hobbs, Property Accounts Administrator

Julie joined C.P. Walker & Son in 2004 and has worked in a number of varied roles within the organisation. Her current role is based in our client accounting team, principally involving processing tradesmen's invoices and utility charges; deposit registrations; and late payment/arrears. Our resident Travel Agent, Julie enjoys going on her own, and organising everyone else's, holidays as well as reading and following Nottingham Forest.

Mark Finnigan, Residential Sales Manager

Mark came to C.P. Walker & Son in 2003 and can boast experience of selling properties spanning over 30 years. With responsibility for managing the residential sales department and valuing properties, Mark has built up extensive knowledge of the market in our area. Aside from being Dad to Alex, James, Emma and Rocky the dog, Mark is interested in photography and QPR as well as being a regular member of the office Golf Society, injury permitting.

Stephen Reece, Property Manager

Stephen joined C.P. Walker & Son in 2005 and has developed into a key member of the team, working across a number of departments. He handles block management at sites such as Anglo Scotian Mills and The Manor, as well as working within student lettings, dealing with the check-in and check-out processes and contracts. Stephen is an Associate of the Institute of Property Management. Father to three young children, Stephen is a keen car and motor racing aficionado and is a first port of call when colleagues are buying new cars!

Alice Fawcett, Property Manager

Alice joined the property management department in 2017 with over two years industry-related experience with a national company involved with surveying. She rose to the role of Property Manager in 2020. Alice's role covers a wide range of responsibility across the residential property management department; coordinating repairs; liaising with Tenants, Clients & contractors; managing the end of tenancy process and ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice. Away from the Office, Alice is most likely to be found either in the gym, at the pub or getting stuck into a good TV box-set.

Justin Hevness, Partner

Justin first joined the business in 2018 and now has nearly 40 years of multi-skilled insurance expertise in the commercial, property and personal markets. He became a Partner in 2024 on our incorporation to LLP. Justin is well placed to advise how best to protect our Clients’ personal and business assets. Having been at the helm of two successful insurance businesses for many years he knows full well the ups and downs of running company. Justin is proud to oversee the Insurance Division for C P Walker & Son including the market-leading Property Protector scheme, which goes from strength to strength, and is looking forward to developing the division to the next level with a great team in place. Away from the office Justin is a busy family man, enjoying valuable time with his children and grandchildren. Spending time exploring the countryside with Buddy the family dog keeps him active, no matter the weather. Justin has an eclectic love of music and comedy with regular live gigs and festivals. Holidays and travel at home and abroad with the family to exotic places is a wonderful release.

Karen Binch, Office Accounts Administrator

Karen joined the team in 2018 and has responsibility for keeping the bank account up to date, providing month and year end information and any other reports the partners require. Karen is a qualified accountant with a range of previous and current experience supporting small and medium size businesses. Karen lives with Tony and their 3 boys where despite nobody being from Manchester, there is a split of United & City fans in addition to a Liverpool fan in the house. If you think that's 'nuts' - Toblerone is Karen's favourite chocolate notwithstanding her long-held hatred of nuts.

Richard Holmes

Richard Holmes, Insurance Advisor

Richard was appointed Insurance Advisor to the Partners of C P Walker fin February 2020. He has over 45 years’ experience in the insurance industry starting his career with 6 years insurance company work at the Norwich Union Group gaining an ACII qualification with a liability insurance distinction. This was followed by being a Director of several traditional regional insurance broking houses for next 25 years. This is Richard's second spell in the business having previously spent 15 years developing our Property Protector scheme, specialising in placing property owners' risks. Outside of insurance Richard has held directorships of several IT companies and was appointed a non – executive director of M-Mover Holdings in 2005. Richard is a proud husband, father and grandfather whilst also supporting, as a season ticket holder, Nottingham Forest and Notts CCC as well as being a Vice President of Ockbrook & Borrowash Cricket Club.

We were delighted to welcome Jane back to the CP Walker Insurance Accounts team in 2020 after a brief hiatus in 2019 following over 15 years of previous outstanding service. Jane has a wealth of both insurance and accounting experience. Jane processes brokers' accounts, allocates transactions and settles payments to insurers. In addition to being 'office mum' to a number of colleagues, Jane is a proud grandmother and most importantly auntie to Dan & Rex.

Sarah joined CP Walker's thriving residential lettings department in 2019 with a broad range of experience in different industries before changing roles in 2025 to join our growing residential sales team. Sarah provides administrative support to the department, arranging and following up viewing appointments and ensuring our activities meet compliance obligations. Away from the office, Sarah has her hands full with her three children, dog and home improvements.

Esther Fleming, Operations Team Leader

Esther joined CP Walker in 2019 initially working in our client accounts team having gained prior relevant experience both in the UK and abroad as well as a B.B.A in Management (Hons). Esther's role has subsequently expanded from processing tenants' rent payments and accounting to our Clients to include additional work with our insurance accounts team. A keen and talented cook, Esther just needs to bring in her goodies to the Office more regularly!

Mick Davis

Mick Davis, Property Protector Operations Manager

Mick joined CP Walker's Property Protector Scheme in 2019 initially as Business Development Manager, becoming Operations Manager in 2020. Mick has a wealth of insurance experience having started at Norwich Union in 1974 as a trainee underwriter. Since then, he's held many roles in underwriting, sales, broking and management at Rotherham Insurance Brokers, NIG, SM Commercial Insurance Brokers and LV. In his current role Mick leads the insurance accounts department and is a member of the insurance senior management team. Mick has a broad range of interests outside of the office enjoying foreign travel, coaching junior hockey and playing the ukulele.

Dom Fletcher, Lettings Manager

Dom joined the property team during our 125th Anniversary in 2021, initially within the residential sales department before taking over management of the lettings team. Dom has extensive local property experience in roles that have covered sales, lettings and property management within both the professional and student sectors. Away from the office Dom is able to combine two of his favourite pastimes: as a keen gardener he is able to appreciate the local flora whilst searching for stray golf balls.

Caroline joined our thriving residential sales team in 2021 as Sales Negotiator with over 20 years of prior experience selling houses locally and extensive knowledge of the local market. Caroline's role covers the length and breadth of the house sale process from both the Vendor and Purchaser perspective, with a particular focus on progressing sales to completion after they have been agreed. Away from the Office Caroline enjoys walking her dogs, spending time with family and following Nottingham Forest (when not on the Saturday working rota!)

Mel joined our expanding Insurance Division during our 125th Anniversary in July 2021 as an administration assistant and took to our wonderful insurance industry so well, she has undergone intensive training and is now one of our trusted underwriters. With a broad range of experience from different industries she provides support and assistance to new business, renewals, mid-term adjustments and lapses, with an eye for detail! Away from work she enjoys spending time with her grown up son in the Netherlands, where he lives and works. She also enjoys gardening and have a keen interest in history, visiting historic homes & castles.

We welcomed Angie into our Client Accounting department in early 2022. Her role primarily involves processing rent and service charge payments and transactions and accounting to our Clients. Angie has over 30 years of relevant accounts experience with both sales and purchase ledgers as well as credit control. In her spare time Angie is passionate about environmental and animal welfare. She is an active member of the 'Nottingham Clean Green Champions' group and enjoys long walks locally and further afield.

Her role primarily involves property owners' insurance; processing renewals, adjustments, new business quotes and claims. Sam's hobbies are shopping, going out for meals and going on walks with her new puppy and fiancé.

Jamie-Leigh joined our Operations Department in the Insurance Division in 2023 bringing a wealth of Insurance experience having started at Swinton Insurance in 2006 as a Trainee Insurance Advisor. Since then has held many roles within the industry in Personal Lines, Commercial Insurance, Office Management before moving into Compliance Management & Operations. Outside of the office she enjoys travelling and spending quality time with her family, who all have a keen interest in football and spend a lot of their spare time and weekends supporting their teams home and away.

Beth Buchholz, Business Development Underwriter

Beth has worked in insurance since 2014, honing her insurance expertise specialising exclusively with all types of property underwriting. Having joined Property Protector in May 2023, she has been active team player in the existing team, handling renewals and mid-term adjustments. Since October 2024 a new challenging role will bring her into even closer contact with broker partners where she will flourish in helping write business, grow accounts and troubleshoot. Her New Business Development Underwriting role will allow her to make instant decisions using her underwriting skills, trade closer with brokers and be an ambassador for the company. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and stepson, taking their 3 greyhounds for walks over the woods. She also enjoys watching true crime documentaries, reading thriller books & listening to rock music.

Kirsty joined our property management team in 2023 as Senior Property Manager with a broad range of relevant experience having previously worked in social housing, agency and for a large private provider. Kirsty is a dog-lover and despite her Scottish heritage has a Labrador (Ralphy) rather than a border terrier!

Lauren Palmer, Administration Assistant

Lauren joined our expanding Insurance Division as an administration assistant supporting the Property Protector scheme. New to the insurance industry she has a broad range of experience from different industries. She provides support and assistance to our Operations Department and Underwriters, dealing with policy renewals and assisting underwriters with general administration duties with care and attention. Away from work Lauren enjoys training her dogs and competing with them in various disciplines such as agility and conformation shows. When she is not with her dogs, she has a purpose built gaming room where she can play her favourite horror games!

Brenton joined our Residential Sales department in 2023 as Business Development Manager with specific responsibility for enhancing our service and offer to Clients selling their homes. A highly experienced property professional having worked in the industry for over 10 years across the sector in traditional agency, hybrid/online and also on a self-employed basis all within Nottinghamshire. Brenton's ethos is to ensure the optimum marketing of properties - incorporating all the benefits of modern technology. Brenton enjoys family time with his wife, three children and dog Hugo and going to the gym honing his fitness for the tennis court.

Aside from a busy family life, Sarah enjoys art - creating pieces for home when time allows.

Peniel joined C P Walker & Son in 2024 as Property Manager in our residential property management team with 2 years' prior experience in the local property sector. Her role in the team includes responsibility for end of tenancy matters and preparing properties for new tenancies as well as day-to-day property management during tenancies. Peniel enjoys broadening her horizons through learning and experiencing new things and travelling to new places and has a passion for creative writing, particularly spoken-word poetry.

Rob Pearson, Senior Account Handler

Rob joined the insurance team in 2025, bringing with him a strong background in commercial insurance from previous roles, as well as a degree in Business Management. He’s focused on making sure his clients are covered properly from the start, so they’re full protected when things go wrong. Rob’s role involves working closely with both new and existing clients, liaising with insurers, and issuing documentation. Away from the office, Rob is a keen golfer and gym-goer, with Liverpool F.C. being his team of choice.

Abbie is proud to be the reigning office indoor bowls champion, a hard-earned victory with associated bragging rights!

Samana re-joined our thriving lettings department in 2022 as Senior Lettings Negotiator after previously working in both sales and lettings positions with us between 2016 and 2019. Samana gained her ARLA membership in 2025. Samana's role has responsibility for the letting process from listing a property to an application being accepted, to let through covering both our professional and student portfolios. Colleagues and maintenance contractors alike are particularly happy to rediscover Samana's legendary tea-making skills. Away from the office Samana has a keen interest in fashion and enjoys long walks in the great outdoors.

Tarn Yung, Specialist Property Manager

Tarn joined our expanding specialist property management team in 2025 with a broad range of professional experience both within the property industry and other sectors having previously earned both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. Tarn's role involves the letting and day-to-day management of our commercial property stock as well as purpose-built student accommodation acting as a first point of contact for both Landlord Clients and Tenants. Tarn has been instructing Martial Arts for over 20 years, but these skills are utilised away from the Office, rather than when dealing with arrears(!)
